Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

Overview:
Elder Scroll fans and RPG lovers of all kinds this is the game for you. The biggest game of 2006 more copies of Oblivian have been sold sold than any other. The game is beyond any RPG I’ve ever played and it’s huge!! It's amazing that they fit everything on one disk. If you have fifty dollars go and buy it now, you won’t regret it. If you play on Xbox 360, it'll cost you $60 but it's worth it.

Storyline:
The main storyline is very long. You’ll spend hours a day trying to beat Oblivian. Tthere are even a few puzzles that normally aren’t to difficult but here are challenging.

You start out in prison in the cell that happens to be the rout in which the emperor must travel to escape assassins. But he doesn’t make it out of the dungeon alive and you’re free to do whatever you want. The assassins murdered the emperor and all his sons because with the emperor gone and no heir to the throne there is noone who can light the dragonfire and call on the gods to stop the Deadric army from destroying all of Tamriel. You learn there is another heir to the throne that as been I hiding. Now you must find the heir, have him wear the amulet the emperor gave you and light the dragonfires. But someone from the assassin group steals the amulet so you have to spend hours of gameplay to get it back. Meanwhile the Oblivion gates are opening everywhere and the dreadric armies are destroying the land and cities. It turns into a full fledged war.

If you don’t want to work on the main storyline, join a guild. Each guild has its own storyline. There are five guilds to choose from each with different styles of gameplay.

Gameplay:
There are so many different ways to play Oblivian. There is stealth, combat,  magic, alchemy, summoning, and more. And the world is huge taking hours to walk across.

Combat has been improved since Elder Scrolls III. Mmagic you can cast spells faster than you can count. Combat is fun and exciting.

Graphics:
Holy cow!! This game has amazing graphics. You can see the grass blades. The textures are nice and some very good anti-aliasing. The lighting is where the graphics are the best. Amazing lighting. But you better have a very good computer or you won’t be able to play this game (system requirements below). This game is definitely next gen material.

Music and People:
Oblivian music is very good adding nice atmosphere. It is not as good as Lord of the Rings or Zelda music but it’s far above average.

The People actually have voiceover. No more reading what people tell you what to do but there could be a greater variety of voices. But really, who cares with a game this fun to play.

Pros:
Very good graphics, long, and any RPG fan will love it. So many things to do and places to go. And it has downloads online so you can get even more.

Cons:
Loading screens are a pain. There not long just a lot of them. Every door you go through brings a loading screen. And where is online play? This game would have been way more fun with a couple of buddies to play it with.

Final Thoughts

Definite buy. Go buy it now, you’ll love it. Amazing Graphics, great gameplay, good sound effects, music, and voiceover, very long storyline and a very good to boot. That stat building system was very well put together. You won’t regret buying this game. But you might want to wait till next summer because Elder Scrolls V is supposed to come out then. It is a definite buy but Oblivions time is almost up.
